We performed the 12 photos activity.
This activity is more difficult than it looks.
The activity is fun and interaction wise.
Yes, casuse i think this is really effective in terms of cooperative learning.

What did we do? In keeping with the given theme [caught in the act], our group decided to focus on different student antics when they think the teachers are not paying attention...

What did I learn?
Too many cooks spoil the broth. :-)
I also learn how to be resourceful because we have so little time and so many ideas to put together. :-@

What worked well?
Listening and openness of the members really helped us accomplish the given tasks

What didn't work so well?
We encoutered technical problems. Grr! :-$
There were so many ideas, it was difficult to create a common story line that would satisfy every memebr of our group. Given more time and a more reliable set-up, I'm sure we'd easily finish this task.

Would you try this with pupils?
YES! But I will give them more time to plan, coordinate and create the 12 photo-essay. I think this activity is an interesting way to develop students' creativity, resourcefulness and inter-personal skills.

What did you do?
We tried to take 12 pictures using a digital camera. We came up with a "storyboard" using the said pictures. Our theme had to be "caught in the act".

What did you learn?
We learned how to tell a story using pictures.
We also learned that it's not that easy to tell a story using only twelve shots.
Teamwork is necessary in such an activity.
An activity using technology such as this can help develop the creativity of the students.Likewise we also develop their interpersonal skills and their higher order thinking skills.

What worked well?
The technology worked well. Also the openess of each group member contributed to the success of the activity.

What didn't work well?
Maybe given more time we could have done a better presentation, a more interesting story and better shots.

Would you try this with pupils?

Definitely so!

"caught in the act" - We were the ones caught in the act. 6 adults trying to come up with a 12 photo essay in 45 minutes...what do you expect? Kids are definitely much more creative. Much more daring and adventurous. Thinking of and deciding how our story should come out took up the most time. It was a good thing we had a willing star. I would definitely try this with my students although I predict I would have a difficulty in securing the logistics necessary.

I cooperated with my group. Our director told me to sleep during the class, so I did. What I learned is that cooperation makes the work easy and we come up with a nice presentation.

First, we moved to a very nice place--the meal room :-) Then we brainstormed on what the photos would be, if they'd be of ourseleves or of the people outside, like the guards, the waiters, the construction workers out on the street, of if we'd have a mock classroom scen. We decided to use the seminar and its participants --us. It was fun listing down all the wacky ideas and who would "star" in the frames/shots. We finalized the sequence of the photos, assigned people for each, then we went back to the conference room to shoot.

It was a good learning experience to "work" and have fun at the same time. We learned about what we could and could not do, or rather what we'd be wiling and not willing to do. It was good that even if we did not know each other in the group, there was a lot of laughter and we compromised for the group project. so I'd say that's what worked well.

This is fun and interesting, something I want to try with my students.

We were grouped to perform the 12 photos activity. It was exciting to note that each member of the group has an idea to share regarding the activity. We ended up with a theme after a while and worked cooperatively to polish the idea. There was a very polite discussion and a joyous, cooperative act as a result of this.

I enjoyed this activity and even my co - members. I really want to try this activity to my pupils. However, because of lack of facilities and big number of pupils in my class it wiil be quite impossible.
But I'm still hoping that this activity will be experienced in the future.

We shot pictures of different situations based from an the agreed storyline. The story was about the things we did here in AIm. We learned through sharing of ideas and cooperative effort surely, we wish to try this with our pupils but cameras are not yet available.

We really enjoyed making the 12 photo, although unfortunately we did not see it.
What we did? Hmmm... first we developed the feeling of closeness so that we can wok very well. The next is we laughed and we laughed beacuse of the different ideas that are popping up in our minds. Then we devised a plan and eventually became successful with the output. ( I guess...)

I learned another strategy in teaching some related topics in English with the integration of course of Digital Camera. It's simple but I believe that it will really capture the interest of the students beacuse it's something new to them considering that they are public school students.

I will definitely try this. My guess is, problem will still exist especially when it comes to facilities to be used, but I'm still positive that as a teacher who is willing to make a difference, I can do something about it.

The 12 photo shoot was an interesting activity for us. Different acting abilities of the participants were shown. Its really good to to try other teaching-learning activity. If the students will be given the chance to do this, I know that it would really produce a more creative output. Teaching and learnign would be enjoyable, making them understand the topic better. Moreover, the activity also taps several intelligences of the students( visual/spatial, kinesthetics, interpersonal, etc).
