For me, this learning experience is a great opportunity that not everybody can have. It's very fortunate that seminars like this is now existing in the Philippines to cater the needs for technology of the Filipino teachers just like me. Despite of the fact that this integration of technology to classroom learning is really far to be expected at this time in public schools, I'm positive that motivation and determination are the ingredients that we just need to push this through.
I'm glad that I have been fortunate enough to be apart of this seminar, and I also believe that the people behind this should be greatly complimented and praised because of their untiring work to have the Philippines well informed in technology advances.
What were the highlights of the workshops for you?
What surprised you? Why?
What was good about this? What was not so good?
What could have been done differently?

We are excited to pursue the ideas we've had from this workshop as soon as we get back to our school. We could start with a school ICT audit after which we could meet to improve and make maximum use of the many computers we have on campus. We are also looking forward to networking with British schools through the British Council so that our students and teachers will expand their cultural friendships.

I'm blessed that I became a part of this seminar. I enjoyed it very much. With regards to our speaker Ms. Shirley, well I can say that aside from the fact that she's a "know-how" in this area of ICT, she is also very approachable and very friendly and everybody likes her.

I enjoyed surfing the net and discovering new sites that will help us improve our curricular program. Going through the different sites and interactive lessons gave me ideas on how we can adapt similar activities to our own setting.
This seminar also gave me ideas on how we can do our own school ICT audit. I'm excited to get back to school tomorrow and discuss these with my colleagues.
More power to the British Council team and hope this will be the start of a new relationship with our school.
Thanks, Shirley! Next time you come to the Philippines, be sure to make time to visit our school. :-) We will keep in touch through e-mail. We'll serve you our homegrown mangoes straight from our organic garden/ orchard. :-)

It gave me the idea that we can maximize the capabilities of ICT in the delivery of educational service and t improve the teaching-learning process in our division. My thoughts on the application of ICT inthe classroom are:
1. SMS can be used to reinforce off-classroom actvities.
2. cameras can be a tool in developing HOTS of students through various photos and images given the right situations and directions.
3. Web pages can be used as portal for off-school and in-school activities (e.g. posting of assignments, lessons and other information useful in developing ideas among the pupils).
A LOT OF THINGS CAN BE DONE WITH ICT, THANKS TO MS. SHIRLEY AND THE BRITISH COUNCIL FOR OPENING THE GATEWAYS OF NEW IDEAS. THIS SEMINAR IS SIMPLY DONE BUT IT DID A GREAT JOB OF INFORMING US THE GREAT OPPORTUNITIES THAT ICT OFFERS. MANY THANKS

This seminar -workshop will ceratinly open more interactive learning opportunities for our students. Once we are able to establish linkages with other British schools through ICT, then our students will be exploring bigger horizons for learning. They will be able to interact with and learn from students (like themsleves) from the side of the globe. Arts, culture and history will surely become more interesting. Learning therefore becomes more relevant/ meaningful to them.
Thank you for making us realize the wonderful possibilities ICT can offer!

Looking to the horizon, the lack of computers inside the classroom may not be a hindrance for the teacher to make his lessons more interesting. Actually, I learned that learning through technology does not only focus on the use of computers! Still, the ideas gained from this workshop really help a lot! THANKS!

FANTASTIC SPEAKER. .......
LIGHT YET HEAVY!
I got a lot of ideas and prospects. I am very much interested with pocket PCs, interactive whiteboards and weblogs.
How i wish i could find a partner shool in UK to do a telllecolaborative learning project using these new trends and practices in teaching with ICT.
A big Hand to the British Council and MS. SHIRLEY FOR THE JOB WELL DONE.

It was an enlightening weekend. I'm not so sorry anymore that I lost a weekend with the family. I had fun and meeting new faces is always a welcome experience. I've been given new ideas for exercises to use in class. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. Why it's good is obvious. Why it's bad is because I would now have to be more creative in allocating and utilizing resources at hand. But what the heck, it's fun. I look forward to future workshops such as these. Thank you so much.

The seminar has broaden my perspective on the use of ICT- that it is not limited to computers and internet alone. I realized that I can explore on the possibilities of using the cellphone as an educational tool. THANKS A LOT TO MS. SHRIRLEY, ULTRALAB and the BRITISH COUNCIL.

This seminar gave us a lot of ideas on how to maximize teaching and learning and to make learning more interesting through ICT. The varying activities that we have performed widened our perspective that aside from the use computer other media such as celphones , digital cameras etc will be very useful to make teaching and learning more challenging and interesting. Thank you very much and congratulations to the organizers The British Council and to MS.SHIRLEY . We look forward for more seminars of this type.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been given the chance to be part of this training, the first ever in our lives, and we ought this much from the British Council and Ms. Shirley Pickford. The only regret that we have is that the insights and skills that we learned from this training could not be shared with our pupils and even with the other teachers we're working with, because we lack the hardware. We learned many things from this workshop and should the council conduct another training similar to this, we would be very greatful if given another chance. Thank you very much.

Hi Shirley!
These are some thoughts you can probably consider regarding the ICT seminar you just conducted here in Manila.
A. The Highlights
*The websites we visited throughout the semninar were so interesting and practical. They would certainly be very useful when we prepare classroom presentations.
*The on -the-spot group activity where we had to use ICT in creating a storyboard would be a very good classroom activity that the students will definitely enjoy. Since I am a Reading teacher, I realized that it is an interesting way of teaching skills such as sequencing events and predicting outcomes also it would be great way to inrtoduce the elements of a story.
B.What Surprised Me
What actually suprised be in a very pleasant way is the fact that ICT can actually open windows of opportunity to establish linkages with other schools. Teachers can link with other tecahers from other schools across the globe and our students will be able to learn culture and the arts through linkages with students their age. They will not only learn these facts/concepts but more importantly they will be able to establish relationships/close ties with young people from other cultures. What an inetresting way to learn culture, society, geography and history!
C. What's Good
*It is a hand-on seminar. Theory and practice converge!
*It is very practical/useful and relevant.
*It is interactive.
D. What's Not Good/ What Could Have Been Done Differently
*Two days are not enough to explore the wide range of possibilities ICT can offer. The seminar could have been richer if we had more than two days.
Thank you so much for the new insights. I would love to attend another seminar on ICT because of the great learning experience I have had with you.

Having attended the ICT seminar for educators sponsored by the British Council was great because my knowledge about the usefulness of ICT in our daily undertakings was enhanced. I could have earlier alloted some of my time learning the ICT particularly the use of computer, but I have been very busy with my work. It hindered me from "touching" the computer as often as I wanted to. I realized that maybe it's not too late to seriously learn about new technology, if one really wanted to learn. I wish that all Filipinos, even those in the rural areas, could have access to computers.
Thank you for your generosity of sharing your time and expertise.

First of all, thanks a lot for sharing this workshop with us. I learned a lot, and now have more new dreams, in particular, equipment and software which we
can use in our classes to make teaching and learning more enjoyable.
It's one workshop that's interesting and fun because there's a lot of time to do hands-on searches on our own (availability of equipment hgelped a lot). We are not cramped with so many activities that are impossible to accomplish in a usual two-day workshop.
We were given on-the-spot activities that we feel very relaxed to do, even if there was the matter of time to consider (like, be back in an hour with the finished
task), it wasn't much of a pressure. So it was quite refreshing that rather than being compelled to come up with something in so short a time.
The workshop makes me think (dream!) more of the possibilities of using the latest in information and communication technology. But now that we've seen the
many possibilites, how frustrating it is to go back to our classrooms with limited equipment. Still, there's so much that we can do, and perhaps, one day, we'll
have all those much-hoped for new computers with all the latest capabilities, unlimited internet access, digital camera, scanners -- the works!
Thanks and more power. Enjoy the rest of your stay (and the beaches!) in the Philippines, Shirley.

Thanks for all this feedback, I've added those who sent feedback by email so we can all see a general picture emerging.
